[ Kai: The Past Arc ]

Before his fateful encounter with Kaho Fujikawa. Star-hunting and rock-chasing in Wales, Kai Hoshino radiated the cold, lonely aura of a wild predator.

Kaho, who can excavate the deepest abysses of history yet remains utterly blind to contour lines or the physical scale of the Earth, is dryly christened "Suicidal Rabbit" by Kai.

The precise moment Kaho desperately tries to shield her kimono with her bag.

With a sudden, firm grip, her slender wrist is seized and she is pulled decisively into the shadow of the crag.

"Your kimono will get wet. ...This way, Boss."

A soft rustle of waxed cotton—and her world is instantly cloaked in absolute blackness.

Kai, standing at a towering 186 cm, looms directly in front of the 156-cm Kaho, pinned back against the craggy wall. Having slipped out of his lightweight Barbour jacket, he drapes it wide, enveloping her completely from above in his protective shell.
