Kai, boasting flawless 2.0 vision, expertly manoeuvred the Lapin out of harm’s way. With terrifying reflexes, he thrust his powerful arm across the passenger seat, forming an absolute barrier. He effortlessly caught Kaho—who had been thrown forward by the sudden braking—preventing her from crashing into the dashboard.

“...! Oh, for goodness’ sake! That ‘Centipede’ (Gejigeji) number plate is wobbling all over the place—it’s an absolute menace!”

Caught off guard, Kaho spat out her venom in a flurry of Kyoto dialect, desperately attempting to suppress the violent pounding of her heart.
